Hello, my name is Carol Beasley, and I am the proud owner of Ikon Rottweilers. I live in Walnut Creek, a small city in the rolling hills of Northern California. Dogs and dog sports are my passion.
|
I have always had a great interest in dog training and would go to the local high school to watch the obedience training classes that were held there. This was the first place that I met the Rottweiler. I had no idea what kind of dog this was, but I knew someday I would own one of these large, powerful dogs. At that time I owned a horse. I asked my parents if I sold the horse could I use the money to buy a dog. Of course they jumped at the chance to stop paying boarding bills and driving me back and forth to the stables. So, in 1980, I bought my first Rottweiler. This puppy became know as Krieer Prinz Bruno, CD. I purchased Bruno as a "show potential" puppy, but soon realized he
was not a "show dog". So we concentrated on obedience and Jr. showmanship.
I learned so much from Bruno. He will always have a special place in
my heart. |
|
Thru the years, I have learned so much
about dogs, Rottweilers and dog training from the priceless guidance
of so many knowledgeable people.
Judy
Howard, from Arydith Obedience School, welcomed me in her classes at
14 years old. She helped guide me to high scoring working dog status
with
Bruno. She would always poke fun at me by saying: "here comes little
Carol and her big boy Bruno." I think some of the judges were
quite surprised how obedient Bruno was with such a young handler. |
